"Actually, I'm Queen now." Mariya says, standing beside him. "What brings you here?"
"Business. I'm guessing your here on buisness to...alone..." Dante says, looking back to the feilds. "Your parents retire?"
"Dad passed away, and mom retired to Destiny." Mariya says. "I'm not alone, Xildus is with me."
"I'm sorry." Dante says. He turns to look at Xildus. "A bird is your body guard?" | |

Mariya blinks. "What was that?" Mariya asked.
"Don't know, but definitly not what I was called here for." Dante said.
"What were you called here for?" Mariya asked, wondering if she should go back to the farm. If there wasa demon, she should steer clear.
"All I was told is that it's here and big," Dante said, sighing.
"Well, when you're done here, I'd like to hire you as a bodyguard. I can explain later why." Mariya said.
"Your pregnant, aren't you?" Dante asked.
"How'd you know?" Mariya asked.
"Call it my sixth sence." Dante said. "And I'll take the job. You must be low on knights, if a bird is your body guard."
Mariya sighs. "I'd be careful, Dante. Xildus is more then he appears to be, and he doesn't care for insults."
Dante scoffed. "Looks like an ordinary dumb bird to me." He said, looking over Xildus.
Mariya looks into thr feilds, so she wouldn't have to watch Xildus beat Dante into a pulp. | |

In a flash, he summons Winner's Proof and dives down toward Dante, crashing into the ground and causing a small shockwave of Nobody tendrils to fire out, so even if he missed with the direct attack, the resulting tendrils would do some damage.
Shirma, watching from Mariya's side, gasps, watching Xildus's movements with awe and shock. "Th...that was...a Dragoon move?" | |

Xildus, now somewhat intrigued by this, follows Shirma to see what she has to show.
"Please understand, memory is not very easy to maintain in this town," Shirma explains. "Once, there was a great threat to Lostime and the surrounding lands, and we were forced to seal away the evil by not only isolating our town from time but also sealing our memories. It was effective, but the seal would not last forever. But then, we had a savior."
Soon, they reach the town square, and in front of the large fountain there, a statue stands. The pedestal is a wonderful work of marble, and the figure is made of gold. However, what is perhaps more surprising is that the figure is of a small Chocobo wearing a saddle and talons, standing fearlessly as if facing an unsculpted threat. A plague reads,
This monument stands in honor and memory of Chocobo, who fought long and hard to bring back peaceful times and sacrificed everything to vanquish evil.
Xildus just stands there, staring at the statue with shock more than anything else. Without his cloak, he looks exactly like the statue, and the Chocobo from his memory was the same one. Could it really be...? | |

Shirma is silent before speaking. "But...if there is a chance it is him..." She then reaches around the side of the monument, and a small click is heard before the plague slides aside. Behind it is a nook, and within that nook is a pendant with a charm shaped similarly to a puzzle piece. "This is what he used to help us, to explore the labyrinths of our minds and restore those memories that had for so long been fragmented. If anything, perhaps..." | |

Upon making contact, however, the pendant seems to shock him, and XIldus lets out a loud wark as he suddenly cripples over in pain, holding his forehead as if he was having an adverse reaction to the pendant. As if on instinct, nothingness tendrils fire up out of the ground, creating a protective barrier around Xildus and cutting him off from the others, but one thing that remains outside the barrier is a strange, small black vortex that had appeared over Xildus's head only moments ago. | |

"Long ago, when the town was cursed to always forget anything that could remind us of evil, it had to be ensured that the memories could not be restored easily. And so they were scattered within the labyrinths of our minds, fragmented and hidden so that only those who possess the power to explore those labyrinths could find them." She then looks to Mariya. "Before, it was Chocobo, but now, it seems the pendant has chosen you to help your friend."
True to what Shirma says, the pendant seems to be glowing, as if calling toward the vortex which echoes the call. | |
