Appearance: Human Form - 
Shadow Form - He resembles a Shadow greatly, but he is as tall and as slim as he is in his human form. His tuft of hair is still there around the two antennae, but it is now the color of the shadows. His clothes are also still there, pitch black as well but also looking much more ragged as if he has been through many trials with the same set of clothes.
Bio/History: On a planet in the deep reaches of space, a woman was wheeled into the infirmary. Seconds after the stretcher the woman is on was pushed into the delivery room, a baby boy was born. An hour after the birth of the boy, an army of Heartless attack and destroy the infirmary. It was the start of a Heartless takeover. In a desperate attempt to save the boy, two nurses take the mother and child to an area in the infirmary for this kind of emergency. The baby boy is placed into an escape rocket and is launched toward another planet. The world soon dissolves into nothing as the baby boy enters another nebula. Before the rocket enters the orbit of a planet made mostly up of islands, groups of drifting Shadows attack the rocket. Entry into orbit knocks the Shadows off, but not before they leave a gift/curse on the boy. During her evening wash, a woman on one of the islands notices the rocket landing onto the beach. As she and several other villagers gather around the rocket, the cockpit opens to reveal the boy. It was considered a blessing from the heavens since the woman who adopted the boy always wanted a child of her own. He was named Mario and adopted the last name Soleman. In his toddler years, his gift/curse was soon discovered by his new mother, who soon came to live with it but kept this a secret from the other villagers. As Mario grew up, he, too, realized that his powers were too monstrous and kept to himself as well. When he turned ten, his mother told him about how he came to her and that he must have came from outer space somewhere, since his powers were not normal for a villager of the Destiny Islands. Although he now understood his past, he still kept to himself when he could. A few days later, he was then allowed to go to the Kid's Island where the kids played. It was also here that his great adventure began. Three years later, the islands were attacked by the Heartless, and miraculously, Mario was able to escape before the world was consumed. Saddened by the loss of his world, he soon came to discover a new power of his: the ability to wield a pair of Keyblades. Using this new power in addition to his own shadow powers, he began fighting against the Heartless, traveling across the cosmos over the next few years as he attempted to snuff out the darkness.

Weapons: A pair of Shadow Blades (similar in appearance to the Ultima Weapon but are as dark as the shadows and are not as powerful; Mario prefers to use only one of them at a time, but if one Shadow Blade isn't enough for him to defeat his foe(s), he can summon the second Shadow Blade)
Explanation for Mario's Powers: A half heartless is when the heart is only semi-separated from the body, this can happen in many ways, but the most common of the rare occurrence is where half way through the heart removal process is cut short. When the Heartless take a heart the plunge their hand etc into the body of its victim, they create a dark barrier which allows them to pull the heart from the chest with ease. Now when it is interrupted most of the time the people are beckoned t the darkness by the barrier and the heartless finish the process. But with babies and such that can't move and think properly yet, are unable to do this which means if the heartless don't get them then theirs a chance they will grow immune to the barriers darkness. But due to the heart not being completely connected it results in half-heartless.
Travel: Mario travels from planet to planet by applying his shadow powers to create a doorway to the next planet. Here's how it works: he pours some of his shadow energy into his Keyblade and then images himself passing through a door. It then creates a passage in and out of the Realm of Darkness that connects the two planets, and by passing through a door that appears on each planet from this connection, one can go through to the other planet. However, if one isn't in some way devoted to the shadows, then the trip through the Realm can drive the traveler insane with the cold darkness. Also, once Mario passes through the door, it disappears so that no one can stumble through to the other planet by accident and so that the Heartless don't try to use it as another way into the worlds. | |
